As an 18 year old man Don Vanderhoff took a job at a stained glass restoration company. Within a couple years with newly found skill and his vintage pick up truck he started sub-contracting as Vanderhoff Construction for stained glass window restoration companies.
Seeing all the deteriorated churches and cathedrals as he traveled
throughout the Midwest, early in the 1990’s Don saw the need for a more
personalized owner operated stained glass company. The rest is history
and his successful business has served the upper Midwest restoring over
300 churches and cathedrals since its birth.
More than a man and his truck with a dream, today
VanDerHoff Studios and office are
located in the scenic hills around Melrose Wisconsin. Don Vanderhoff
still to this day personally travels to every church that contacts
VanDerHoff Studios to assess the
condition, recommend a restoration plan and provide a free estimate.

Don Vanderhoff married Barbara Klein in March of 2010. Since then
Barbara has been managing the office and developing
VanDerHoff Studios website. Many
times you will find her traveling with Don to evaluate and document the
condition of windows for a restoration plan report.
Barbara has developed several educational slide shows on the topic of stained glass and storm coverings to help church parishioners, restoration committees and any other interested parties understand the processes better in order to make more informed decisions about their precious windows.
Barbara is also very active in trying to bring national awareness and
gain national interest in complete restorations of our historical
churches and cathedrals. Our historic churches and Catherdrals all
over the country are in great need of our attention.
